Do I get $199 on contract or go for 928 for free?

I'm kind of conflicted because at this point it's total preference/spec war. I read both reviews on WPCentral and they're both positive. I'm not sure if it's worth the extra $200. I use my phone regularly(Verizon HTC Trophy), so I just don't know if I should go with the future proofing of the Icon(even though the 928 is fairly new).

How about a used 928 for about $150 and not have a contract. Really, except for the bigger screen and better camera, the 928 will run just as good as the Icon.

I really think the icon is worth the extra $199, if you look around you could probably find a used 928 for $200. If you could wait for a month the icon will most likely drop to $100 on contract.

Well, it comes down to the specs pretty much.

Its up to you whether you believe the improved camera, larger display (with three columns too), much more horsepower under-the-hood is worth the $199 markup, current lack of Glance, and slight bump in size. (since your monthly bill is likely to be the same anyway.)

I think that's the gist of it.

You can't go wrong with either. I just traded my 928 for the ICON today. Had the 928 for 8 months; loved it. As I said, got the ICON today; love it. I don't think that Verizon will have another top tier phone this calendar so for that reason, you might go with the ICON.

That's like saying other than the bigger motor, better tires, nicer interior, more room...the impala is about the same as the 7 series BMW...lol

The camera alone makes it an easy choice for me. The ICON is 1,000,000,000,000x better from the comparisons I have been doing between my 928 and my wife's new ICON that she picked up today.

Definitely go for the Icon. Much nicer than the 928, and hardly any bigger even with the bigger screen. Higher quality feeling as well.

The Icon has a quad core processor vs. dual core in the 928 too.
