Do I need to roll back from developer preview?

I have Lumia 630 with developer preview on it. Do I need to roll back from developer preview to get denim update.

No, you don't. You'll get the official update on your device when it's available for your device/region/carrier.

No you can't get back to 8 anymore unless you happen to have a ROM for 8 on your computer.

Yes but it is now called Lumia Software Recovery Tool. And you only can downgrade to the latest official version. So if you have Cyan (no P4D) you can not go to Black with this tool. But if you have Cyan with P4D you can downgrade to Cyan.

Indeed with Lumia software recovery tool you only can downgrade to previous version of 8.1

No. You can use the Nokia tool to reload the current version of the OS and firmware.

When WP8.1 was starting to roll out, the Nokia tool still gave you the software for WP8.0, but this has since been updated to WP8.1/Cyan. There's no official way of regressing to WP8.0.
