Windows Central Question

I may be getting wooed towards upgrading to windows 10 and am certainly a fan of "integrativty", however, one thing is pretty much holding me back.

I need to know, and this is an absolute deal-breaker on getting a windows phone, whether there is the ability to use the window's phone's internet connection, via USB (that is the crucial point), as the PCs internet connection, and if this is a very simple task to do, as it is already with android phones.

I do not want a wi fi as that means buying extra hardware, as well as loss of speed due to no wired connection, I'm purely interested in USB tethering.

Thank you for your time,

As mentioned above, Windows phones currently do not support USB tethering.

I just wanted to add to your point quoted. Buying a USB Wi-Fi dongle does cost extra and is completely justified but if one can afford a data plan with a high speed internet and tethering why not spend less $10 bucks and buy a USB adapter instead? Also in my experience there is negligible speed loss when tethering through Wi-Fi. For example, the speed test app on my 920 used to show a constant 27 MBPS when I was on T-Mobile LTE and on a tethered MSI GT60 it used to show the same speed. Now in most cases the speed would decrease if your phone is not located near the connected device (but that's the case with all Wi-Fi adapters)
