Do you soft/hard reset your phone for every other issue ?

I joined this forum recently and have been noticing that people do soft/hard reason for each and every issue without even thinking of possibility of another solution.
Why do you have to go through the pain of setting up your device again and installing the apps all over again, configuring them when there might be an easy fix for your issue, such as a simple OTA update.
Use soft/hard reset only as a last resort.
Even when that has failed please use the official software recovery tool from nokia.

I don't hard reset and last time I did was back in February 2014 I think. And soft reset unfortunately I do have to do sometimes. Mostly when I try to turn on internet sharing it gets 'stuck' (doesn't turn on) and it doesn't allow you to turn off Wi-Fi. So restarting/resetting is the only way to fix it. Happens very rarely. 928

You don't have to set your phone up again for a soft reset, you don't lose anything except for a bit of time.

With the backup/restore being better than before, hard resets are a lot less painful than they used to be.

Hard and soft resets are sometimes necessary in order to resolve issues. A soft reset will solve minor glitches, a hard reset should sort out anything that's more deep seated.

Yes, there might well be a simpler solution and we give those out when they do form a resolution for a particular issue.
