Does the update auto-restart the computer?

I'm talking about 8.1, of course.

It said it was going to auto-restart for me. I got a dialog box giving me the option to manually restart or a countdown to auto-restart. I think the timer was at 15min.

I was kind of hoping it'd be pure manual, but I guess I understand.
