Drive Mode

I setup Drive mode on my Lumia 640. I noticed that even though I selected my cars hands-free to activate it, it still keeps prompting me as to whether I want to turn on Drive mode every time. Isn't this a bit pointless? Especially as it sometimes takes a minute or two before the Bluetooth connects. It either means I have to sit there waiting for it to recognize it's connected to my hands-free or drive away and be tempted to answer the prompt while driving!

Is the drive mode any better in Windows 10 Mobile?

Having some issues with it on 10.
On 8.1 I could long press the button on my headset and get Cortana and then 'call wife' etc.
On 10 long press on button gives same sound as though initialising Cortana then I get another dull bleep and nothing. No handsfree dialling.
Drive mode fine for me on setup

Isn't there a toggle to switch between the prompting and automatically switching? A delay doesn't seem so bad if it helps prevent an immediate connection when all you are doing is hoping in the car to listen to the radio on a 15 minute break.

If there is, I haven't found it. The Status toggle is grayed out underneath it just says "Driving Mode will turn on automatically when you're driving".
I have the HandsFreeLink selected as my Driving Mode connection. Once you are connected it then displays a prompt asking if you want to start driving mode which is jarring every time. To me it's unnecessary, it should do it automatically. I assume the prompt is in-case you are a passenger in your own car, but then I can just disable those times anyway.

The driving mode is pretty basic and just allows you to divert texts and/or calls if someone texts you or calls you. You can still listen to podcasts etc.
