Dual Sim phone

With the end of 2G network in Singapore, my Lumia 950 dual sim is now classified as a useless phone. I can only use Sim 1 as my daily driver. My SIM 2 slot (2G) only is now redundant.

OP's just frustrated with this 2G-lock on the secondary SIM like a handful have encountered here in the US with AT&T when they shut down their 2G network earlier this year.

Unfortunately, I don't believe we have any solutions short of switching out the phone itself.

Correct, I don't think that the SD 808 or 810 in the 950 and 950XL support 3G on the second SIM. I believe that the HP Elite x3 is the only device that does, as this is permitted by the SD 820.

ahh crap, two phone purchases that are a bit of a waste now. have to upgrade my 950XL and my wifes 950. sadly, this probably means no more windows phone

In this case, yes it's specific to carrier.

Many of the 2G networks are being switched off and repurposed. In these situations the second SIM can still be used for data but the 2G standby for voice and texts won't work unfortunately.
