So I am thinking about getting the surface pro 2 and I am wondering if you have an ebook open lets say in the kindle reader or somthing like it, is it possible to take notes on the page directly like you could with an actual textbook? I know you can do this with pdf files on the surface but just wondering if it is possible with ebooks?

The kindle app is really basic. It doesn't allow for taking handwritten notes on the pages. I emailed the developers and suggested that this feature be implemented. I got some generic response, so I don't think they are even trying to make it happen. I generally don't take notes in books. But you could dock the kindle app on one side and take notes in OneNote on the other. Snapping apps is probably my favorite feature in windows 8. It makes multitasking so simple.

That would be a great feature to add to it, though. Amazon, are you listening?

I found a program that can convert the the kindle or other eBooks to PDF or any other eBook format called epubor, this allows to write in the PDF file, still looking for a way to turn off and on the annotations and writing.

I want to give my vote to ebook. This is the latest technology and most use these days. Other wise this depend on your requirement. Now choice is yours....
