EDGE on 10122 still sucks

I installed 10122 on my desktop (Core i7, 24GB Ram) and my Surface 3 yesterday. While the Edge/Spartan browser is better, it is still pretty much unusable.

My go to site to test it is TheBlaze - Breaking news and opinion. This is apparently a mean site, and IE11 struggles with it a lot. Even Chrome has some problems. While it loads faster in this build (in prior builds it would take 10-15 seconds to load), I still can't really use it. I prefer to ctrl-click on articles, and that isn't working in Edge here. It is still so slow as to make it unusable.

I also found when clicking on articles in the facebook app, it would hit Edge, and never redirect, i'd be stuck at a blank page.

So, after trying edge for an hour, I changed back to make Chrome my default browser.

I definitely won't be making Edge my daily driver until they have support for add-ins, so i can have LastPass. I have so many sites to sign in to for work, that i can't do life without it.

You still have access to IE11 you know....

And (and I'm pointing out the obvious here), Edge is still an experimental build.

And (and I'm pointing out the obvious again), a bad web site is a bad web site.

I found Edge to be so slow on 10074. Having used it on 10122 for a couple nights, it feels like a completely new experience: Pages load super-quickly, tab switching is so much more responsive. I've had a few glitches like crashing when you pin a page to start (as noted in the WC article). Some sites are also much slower than others. WC forums page actually seems to be one of those. But on the whole it has actually gotten fun to use rather than a chore.

I did some side by side comparisons with Chrome and Edge of a bunch of sites. While I agree Edge is faster than it was in the prior build, it is several beats slower than chrome.

So, I'm not allowed to go to a forum for the experimental build and comment on that experimental build? Why are you even here ?

THAT is your problem!
That website has so many pop ups running with timers and all that. It is also one of the worst sites to experience on a mobile device. It is awful.

I cringe when someone in my social network shares a story on the blaze website.

INFOWARS (a similar type site) doesn't even have nearly that many ads and thank God they don't have the pop ups that occur like 15 seconds after you start reading an article like the blaze does.

The blaze isn't the only one. Lots of "news" type sites these days like to host copies of articles just to get internet traffic and of course they make money with the ads on the page.

BTW, Spartan seems to have broke with Build 10130
It opens and immediately closes.
I was hoping to find discussion about it on the forums but no luck so far and I keep getting distracted by all these other posts. LOL

that site kinda sucks in any browser.....maybe future extensions would help if you really had to read it.........

According to the mod, since we can still access IE11 there is no problem. If Edge does not perform, well then the website is bad. Since it is experimental, it should not be criticized. Who can argue with this kind of logic?
