Email - updating the source

Hi everyone

I have several separate email accounts on my WP. What I have noticed is that if I read/delete emails on my phone, then log into the source (i.e. my work email which is delivered by Microsoft Exchange, or Hotmail through a desktop web browser) the changes don't appear. So I read an email on my phone, but it still shows as unread on my Window Surface.

Is there a way to change this so that it updates back at "the source"?

That sounds strange, they should sync... Has it been like this all the time?

Since I have done a hard reset the accounts now all sync bar one hotmail one, which is strange as another hotmail account syncs fine! I will check settings out...
