Emailing an "INF" file is illegal

This is nuts, since when is emailing an INF file illegal? I got this message:

74.125.129.26 failed after I sent the message.
Remote host said: 552-5.7.0 Our system detected an illegal attachment on your message

What I was doing was emailing a netgear inf file for a wireless adapter to by backup computer which runs linux so I could run ndiswrapper and get it working.
 
Your just a big old trouble maker aren't you...lol

Could you just change the file extension to .zip email it then change it back?

Yes you could. It must see an inf file as proprietary software.

Not that long ago I tried burning a DVD of everything in my temp folder, and got read the riot act by windows for trying to burn proprietary software. What it turned out to be was a free beta software game. Jeez! :grin:
 
Its always something if they can't lock it down they lock it up. That and someone is always ruining the fun by turning something harmless into a virus or trojan.


Side not my package is sitting at my house so I'm taking off early to go and get it. I have to stop at the bottle shop first. Time to start the weekend. :cool:
