Emailing files from SkyDrive

Is there a way of emailing from the phone an actual file from SkyDrive rather than a link? I may be mistaken, but when I first started using WP8 in November, I recall being able to do that, but now it seems to email a link instead.

OK, so it took a few months, but I have finally realised what I've done wrong.

It is possible to send the actual file from the phone, rather than a link, and to do that use the office app rather than the skydrive app.
