Enable Background wallpaper for windows phone 8.1

With the ability to add wallpaper windows phone 8 will look ever nicer. Enough said take a look at the mock ups i created :love:

Everywhere else the background image is simply distracting. Worst of all, it would be detrimental to battery life on all devices with AMOLED displays.
 
Looks horrible! Why do people insist on adding such pointless customizations that are ugly and ruin the UI.

Background images should be used sparingly in interfaces. Especially when there is a ton of content on top of them.

Which is why it should be an option. If Microsoft enables it, you don't have to use it if you don't want to.

Yeah, that's the typical response. I rarely agree. In this case I'd first want to see what the worst case affect on battery life is (for devices with AMOLED displays). Whether it becomes an option or not should be based on that. If users can screw something up, they will (murphy's IT law), so you don't want to offer options that could do more harm than good.

Even if battery life was a none issue, I'd still consider this a very low priority task. There are so many other functional issues MS should be solving first.
 
So I could see little pieces of a picture between the tiles, cluttering it up? No.
