Encrypted micro SD?

I have the 64GB SP3. Now I figure it doesn't have enough space to store all my email locally. I run Thunderbird for local email.

Is there a way to encrypt the micro SD card, put my local Thunderbird folders on it, and get it to work?

you can use BitLocker on the SD card

Make sure you format the SD card as NTFS in order to use bitlocker. The standard formatting will likely be exFat.
