Equaliser woes

Recently I bought a plantronic bluetooth wireless headset..

Great idea... No cables to get caught at the gym.

I paired it to my 930 and away I went...

Sound quality was woeful... No bass at all. So I went into the equaliser. It was all greyed to... This is not a comatible device......

I paired the headphones to my iPad, iPod and an IPhone of my wife's... Then put bass boost and or treble reduction on... Sounded way better.

What's up with the equaliser in windows 8.1?

The EQ is only available for wired headsets. If you have to push the EQ that much, there may be a problem with the headset.
