Everything duplicates (post Amber) HELP!

I sent my girlfriend my old Nokia 822 which was updated to Amber, and SD Card or not, everything from photos to music duplicates on the phone. In fact, when the Micro SD card is read on the computer the files are not duplicated on there. This file duplication is a huge headache. Does anyone know how to fix the problem with this phone? Should we try resetting the phone?
Also, my girlfriend did a few screenshots on the phone and even those files duplicated.

did you try and soft reset (hold volume down and power until it resets) or pull the battery?
