Facebook Messenger Notifications not working

I didn't see anyone post about this, but I did see mention of it in the comments on the article about the release of Messenger. Anyway I've noticed people complaining about getting multiple notifications for messages, but I'm having the opposite issue. I get no notifications on my 1020. The live tile shows no notifications, the lockscreen shows nothing(I made sure to set it to display on the lockscreen), etc. I've tried doing a soft reset, uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. Finally I grabbed my 920 which I haven't been using, installed it on there, set it up and it gives notifications on the lockscreen/tile and I even get the toast notifications no problem. Has anyone encountered this, and if they have, have they been able to correct it?

There is a limit to the number of apps you can have installed that have push notifications enabled. There is also a live tile limit, effectively limiting the number of 'pull' notification tiles as well. Even if you don't use the push notifications, some apps will still take up a push 'slot' if poorly coded. That is likely your problem. Try uninstalling a few of your other push apps to see if FBM jumps in to life.

Thanks for the heads-up. That was it, I just went through some apps and removed some that I'm not worried about push on and sure enough it started working. I've had a Windows Phone for a while now, shows how much I actually know about it.

I dont have that manny applications and tried deleting some but messenger still doesnt notify me when i leave the app(even when its open)can u help me cuz fb messenger is very important for me cant use crapy fb app...:/

I've had this problem since Friday evening. Facebook Messenger was always working perfectly, but at some point around 7pm Friday evening, it stopped producing toasts and live tile updates. I rebooted my device, but no change. My last working notification was around 6:45pm back on Friday.

im having the same problem now, facebook and facebook messenger is having a problem on notification,did you already fixed it? im also using 1020 os version 8.10.12397.895.

Hi,
I'm also having the same issue on my Lumia 1020 from last weak, no notification in action center nor any push notification for facebook messenger, even i can't see the Messenger application in background app in battery settings.
