Hi all.
Anyone care to offer an opinion on this please? I have a problem with my Nokia Lumia 630.
After FIVE factory resets, data that was previously on the phone is still emerging, after the resets.
It went like this:
Problems started with phone so I contacted my mobile operator to get the fault fixed. Was advised to factory reset it.
Reset 1 - All data - texts, contacts, etc, all gone. Phone worked ok, but a week or so later phone still had problems and I sent it in for repair.
Reset 2 - I factory reset the phone to get rid of my personal & financial data that was on the phone, before returning it for repair. Nothing on the phone as far as I could see (texts, data, contacts, etc, all gone).
Reset 3 - phone came back from repair. *I've been told the phone had the Windows software re-installed while in repair.* 7-8 days later faults started to occur again, and I was advised (by mobile operator repair services) to reset it again. Reset it, and when checked, the texts that had existed on the phone prior to Reset 1 were now back on the phone.
Reset 4 - Again, reset the phone. Texts now gone but appointments in calendar had now resurfaced.
Reset 5 - All my personal contacts have reappeared and calender appointments are still in there, also my password & username to the app store is on too.
Clearly, the data on the phone is not being cleared off completely.
I don't back up to the cloud, nor was there an SD card in the phone, nor were contacts stored on the micro-sim. So I've no idea why this should happen as I thought a factory reset effectively wiped everything off the phone. And if the software was wiped and re-installed - as I was told it was - where'd the data come from?
Has anyone seen this issue before please?
Cheers
