Many gamers have a favorite Sonic the Hedgehog game, and for lots of Wii owners back in the day, that game was Sonic Colors. Thanks to a cross-platform remaster published by (not developed by, mind you) Sega, now Xbox Series X and Xbox One owners can experience Sonic Colors for themselves.
It isn't a perfect remaster or port of an old game, and in some ways falls short of the Wii-bound original from 2010 due to technical issues, cut corners, and a general lack of ambition as far as remasters go. But if you've never experienced the title and just want to know what the fuss is about, this is a fine way to see the amazement of Eggman's Interstellar Amusement Park firsthand. The environments are ultra imaginative, the music's incredible, and Sonic is just as fast and fun as ever, even if the scope of Colors is far less ambitious than, say, Sonic Unleashed (which remains, to this day, the objective king of 3D Sonic titles).
