I agree.
Just make sure of the following before you start the update:
1- The Surface Pro 2 has the keyboard attached. The keyboard has a firmware chip on it, it looks like. It wont' get installed if the keyboard is not there at the moment.
2- The Surface Pro 2 is plugged in to the wall
3- The Surface Pro 2 is FULLY charged at 100%.
Doing so, will avoid unexpected failure of install of the firmware where it didn't upgrade everything, and then you may face with issues.
It is hard to say for sure if the above precaution are related. But it would seam that people that do, rarely have any problems.
For me, it's been going great, and I don't mind doing it, as well, the keyboard is always attached, and well I would charge the device eventually at some point, obviously.
If this is your first firmware install, expect multiple reboots, and you may have the fan kick-in at full speed for a moment, or no image on the screen for also a moment. Let the device do it's thing. Don't interrupt it. Some people panic (same for desktop or laptop firmware upgrades with other manufactures) and force shutdown, and up completely bricking the system, or experience issues that can't really be solved anymore, beside sending it for repair. It you let do it's thing, in a few minutes, it will be done, and voila enjoy!
