I noticed that Microsoft globally pushed out what they call a cumulative update today - most likely just simple bug fixes, but the insiders didn't see it first - that isn't good or bad, just interesting.

I expect any modification of functionality or larger bug fixes would hit the insiders first to be stress tested before going out to the larger population. To date, we haven't seen anything since RTM...

Is that this group's expectation of the program as well?

I don't know but it appears MS starts out with something then just take a hard right turn, PFD for WP is a good example, started out as such then we reverted to the Insider Program, nothing seems to stay on the straight and narrow which causes confusion and uncertainty, hence, my perception Windows in general is becoming one big beta affair, always on the move but never finessed or finished... At least that is how I see it.
