First impression with my orange 930

Just pick up my 930 today and very impressive..
1.Build is excellent..lighter than I thought.
2. Display is amazing and view angle is excellent.
3. Fast and very responsive.
4.even no LTE on at&t but HSPA+ is fast enough and WiFi is very good.
Never have chance to play with camera yet but I bet is good and the battery seems ok.
Overall I really like this phone over than the m8.

Glad you like the phone. I have a 1520 and got a lovely case for it which I reccomend. Go to ebay and type Lumia cover. There is one for ?2 (?3) that has a leather look to it, magnet lock and can store cards and paper cash. It also doubles as a kick stand for watching movies. You want to protect your new baby right

Got mine a couple weeks ago, the screen is indeed very impressive except for the purple hue and the screen bleed... Do you have these issues?

Everyone who has seen my phone the first thing they say is "wow nice screen"

Got the purple tint problem too but after few adjust brightness setting it not that bad..hope the update will fix soon.

Congrats! Good to see more 930 users in the U.S. despite the unfortunate lack of LTE. I'm thinking of buying an orange one to use on T-Mobile (currently have a 1520) but I'll wait to see what the September announcements have in store.

So my understanding is that like the Icon the 930 doesn't support Glance either, is that correct? Do all carriers allow you to bring your own device? Or is it T-Mobile only?

Skype took about 3-4 sec (it hasn't been launched today nor do I have it as a background task).

That's correct, the 930 does not support glance either. As far as I'm aware every carrier allows you to bring your own device, you just have to make sure the device supports that carrier's band frequencies. The 930 will work on both AT&T and T-Mobile, but without LTE.

I think the better question might be how is Skype/Viber quality while using the network (since there's no LTE)? At least I'd like to know that.

As far as I'm aware it won't work on Verizon. Might as well get the Icon if you're on VW.
