I think Laura has visited this thread and done some clean up anyway but still thought, it was worth us discussing it here?

Following the PM, I visited thread, only 2 members posting in that thread - both of whom I infracted after reading posts. The infraction along with a warning was to give them heads up for several reasons:
1) making threads personal
2) taking them away from what it was meant to be
3) Morpheus Phreak has done this before on front page to others and has been under the radar.
4) Use of language

Although the language isn't outright abusive, but Morpheus has had issues over-expressing what he is writing in public domain. This time around it wasn't Morpheus who started it but he took the bait and his response was aggressive enough. What I however do not support is, his PM following infarction.

Nope...sorry didn't attack him. **** this...contacting James...and telling him I'm not going to be a part of this sites special group as he was requesting of me, and that I don't even want to dedicate my knowledge as someone who has worked at MS here.

This is from ListenUpGuys who actually started off on wrong note in a reply.

All said and done - Laura found this thread and removed further responses that were more awful.

I think we just need to chill right now. I've contacted Morpheus via PM, and had an extensive conversation with him. I don't think he will cause more trouble at this point. Please let me know if you spot anything else involving him, since I've been in contact with him about some issues.

Morpheus seems to take the bait a lot - and seems to complain to us to defend him once he's taken it. I'm curious whether James asked Morpheus to be part of any 'special group' but his PM is out of line and might be a candidate for abuse of a moderator if you wanted to take it that way, but we know Morpheus just gets worked up and doesn't tend to post anything maliciously.

The thread seems to have gone awry but seems cleaning the replies up have kept it moderately useful.

Morpheus comes off as a egotistical crybaby that believes his "expertise" has earned him a special status amongst other posters. He has his own version of the rules that he believes the mods must adhere to and not the other way around. While Morpheus may think his rude behavior isn't damaging, he'd cause far less trouble if he wasn't calling people fools and mocking their intelligence. Nor does he realize that telling his fellow cronies to "stay away from WPCentral" isn't going to hurt our viewership. And we definitely won't be bullied by someone that thinks he's "too important" to the site.

Glad I wasn't reading the situation wrongly here - I haven't responded to either of them yet but Morpheus guy is surely on my radar from now. He just seems to think he is "more right" than anyone else and we have to cuddle him whenever he uses English in every possible wrong way.
