Flashing a Lumia 1020, any help?

Flashing lumia 1020.

I had a lumia 620 . Upgraded to build 10586.164 using the insider configuration. Did a factory reset and ran that for a day or two. Somehow the device created a backup file for the apps/settings etc. Had performance issues - battery drain , scrolling used to flicker a bit , so I rolled back to 8.1.

Restored from the same back up file , and now my 620 on 8.1 too had issues , scrolling was a mess , same flickering as it was there on .164. Did a hard reset again and this time didn't restore from any backup file but the problem was still there. I thought it was my device's issue.

So I switched to lumia 1020 ( my brother had one). It was on 8.1 only. It was running pretty well as 8.1 runs usually. Did a factory reset as I had to login from my microsoft account. Restored from the same backup file again and all the issues mentioned above came to my 1020. Did a hard rest like a million times , with that backup without that backup , different msft account and what not. I tried everything. But still no success.

I even flashed my lumia 1020 guessing maybe my firmware has gone corrupted or something but still no success. I flashed my lumia 1020 with the windows phone image designer which only takes the .ffu file.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem ? I have posted this everywhere , Gabe aul's twitter account , windows insider forums etc etc. But no solution found yet. Can anyone help me on this ?

Tried flashing 1020 via Nokia care suite too , but that doesn't work anymore. Can anyone suggest me anything ? The battery drain is freaking me out. Just by restarting I lose 4-5% of the battery , please help !

Re: Flashing lumia 1020.

Why not use WDRT and get the complete, official ROM?

Forgo the restore from backup... In fact, go to OneDrive in Browser and delete that since it is causing so many headaches.

I tried WDRT , but the problem is , even if I don't restore from any backup file or I don't even login with my msft account , tha 'laggy' nature still exists. Not to mention thee battery drain :(

I tried flashing my phone using this :
Tutorial | Microsoft Lumia devices and Nokia?€? | Windows 10 Development and Hacking

But this gave me an error like this :

Read antitheft status...
Requested read param 0x41545250 is not supported by this flash app version.
Send backup to RAM req...
Clearing the backup GPT...SKIPPED!
Unable to parse FFU file. File open failed
programming operation failed!
Unable to parse FFU file. File open failed, Error code: 2

Operation took about 18.00 seconds.

FFU_PARSING_ERROR

THOR2 1.8.2.18 exited with error code 2228224 (0x220000)

Can you suggest something ? Thanks in advance .

[UPDATE] :

I flashed my 1020 using the Windows phone image designer.
Guess what , the problem still persists. :(
I messed up my phone , didn't I ?

Have you tried performing a dead-flash using Nokia Product Support Tool? You can refer to the tutorial posted here.

These nokia tools don't work anymore.. :(
They've closed all the servers , so this module( nokia suite ) won't connect to the internet..
Same for Navifirm +

[UPDATE]
Flashed using Product support tool. Flashing went alright , but still the same issues :|
I have messed up my phone :(
Maybe my phone has some ' bad sectors ' in its memory ? ( Just a speculation )

Did you perform a dead flash?

Re: Flashing lumia 1020.

Have you tried redownloading the firmware again? Or flash but not restore from a backup.

I don't even login with my msft account , taking the ' sign in later ' option. Coming to the main GUI I check scrolling first , like scrolling apps , in internet explorer etc , and the screen kinda flickers ( while scrolling ) , it isn't smooth as before. If you're suggesting the firmware I downloaded is corrupted , then consider this , the lumia 620 I have , mentioned in the original post , too behaves like this after flashing...

I'm not an expert at this , but seems like a software issue to me.. What do you say ?

Re: Flashing lumia 1020.

It looks like a software issue for sure. Usually a dead flash (clean firmware flash) should clear it all.

But that's not happening :(
Any other tools used for flashing ?
(Already tried : WDRT , nokia suite , windows phone image designer , wpinternals)

Even flashing a new firmware isn't helping.. So could a hard reset help ?
How would I know? I didn't design the phone. Given that flashing a new firmware won't fix what a backup file did I'd say anything is possible, no need to go looking for logic here.
Others have said that a hard reset with the buttons can give a different result than using the Settings menu.
I'm trying to help, not starting an argument.

Since a backup file messed up the phone in the first place, have you tried using a backup file from a phone that haven't touched Windows 10?

No results :(
(And hey , didn't mean to offend. Sorry ! )
