Flashing Locked Carrier Firmware on Unlocked Phone

Hi i have a Lumia 640 059X133 which was a Sim Free phone thus unlocked out the box.
Now i have already flashed the 059X1Q3 EE Firmware (VOLTE) and updated the Product code from 059X133 to 059X1Q3 via thor2.

But i totally forgot about the SIMLOCK. So i was wondering if flashing a Unlocked device with Locked carrier firmware effect the SIMLOCK or will the device still be unlocked.

Never been where you are but i believe it will effect simlock.

Thanks for the reply, so guess i am going to need another sim to test it out. I take it if the device has gone back to locked inserting any sim other then EE should bring up the code request?

It shouldn't activate the lock since your phone is already unlocked when you bought it. However the sim tray was originally is how it would stay.

Edit: I haven't had personal experience with this but stateside, people usually do the opposite of what you are planning to do and it works fine. They have unlocked a carrier locked 640 and flashed it to an unlocked one without issues.

Thanks libra89 for you reply i can now stop panicking.

I knew with android phones that cross flashing didn't effect the Simlock however wasn't sure about Windows devices.
