Flow on GB12, what's the big deal?

I'm hoping you can enlighten me on the advantages of Samsung Flow - So I've set up Flow on my Galaxy Book 12 LTE, and on my GS7 Edge, and the benefits of using this are kind of lost on me. What I read says it uses NFC, but Bluetooth needs to be running and connected on both devices for this to work? I don't want to leave BT running all day long while the tablet is in my bag. So far, I'm not getting the advantage of having phone notifications pushed to the GB12. And grabbing the phone to scan my fingerprint to unlock my tablet doesn't seem faster than entering my password on the keyboard. What am I missing?
