For those in the Los Angeles Area: regarding Bing Maps on 7.x

I have recently encountered a problem in which Maps will not load the street map view for a large rectangular area of Los Angeles, but will under aerial view. Traffic and directions load just fine, but without the map layer. I have confirmed this with 2 other personally, and one other having the same problem on a Microsoft forum.

So far, I haven't found any other threads or discussions regarding this, so my questions is: has anyone else seen this yet? Can anyone attempt to load the LA area and get back to this thread with their findings? Thanks

You know what, I've been facing the problem too since this weekend. I have the ATT Lumia 900 updated to 7.8. I thought I was the only one with this problem. My roommate, who has the 800, has no problems with the maps. It loads on her phone just fine.

I first noticed this issue on my phone last Wednesday, took my phone in this past Monday (since could find no threads about it and assumed issue with my phone) and got a replacement. The replacement has the same issue, no street view, but aerial view works fine and works if I zoom in to satellite view or out to eliminate detail. I have a Nokia Lumia 710, the replacement phone did not have an upgrade from Windows phone 7 (I don't think, anyhow).

I checked my roommate's 800 again tonight and now the same thing happens on her phone too. I guess Bing maps is just acting funny. Hopefully the issue gets resolved soon. I am using Nokia maps for now instead.

I can confirm this issue. I have a Lumia 710 which I put 7.8 on. My friend has a 900 with 7.8 and has the same problem. My LG Quantum with 7.5 on it has the same issue but it can at least zoom farther before everything gets washed out.

having the same issue. noticed it two nights ago. Either i zoom all the way out, or all the way in. Nothing in between. I see the "dots" indicating the directions, but nothing else. activated traffic and was able to see the "colored lines", but no street names...nothing.

Just checked on my coworkers 900/tmobile

everything works fine on his phone...

Well, this issue has apparently been forwarded to Microsoft: [link]

So let's hope that this is fixed soon. I really hope so, since I depend on my phone's maps/navigation for work
