Forum Mod and Admin CHAT ROOM!

Howdy all,

This morning I setup a campfire chat room for our forum mods and admins. If you'd like to get your 'key' to the room, please let me know asap.

I figure we need somewhere we can easily pop-in and chat in REAL TIME. The chat is a campfire chat room, and I believe there are clients for it on most mobile OS's. This will be a much more effective communication tool for us to make sure we're all on the same page, pushing things forward.

Please keep in mind there is no obligation to do so, but I really do feel that if we had a go-to place to hash things out in real time, we will all be much more effective. I realize that our schedules are all over the place… so even if we use this as a meeting place when we can all get together, I think it will be good stuff.

The only thing I'd have to ask.. is if you join, try to be IN the chatroom when you're online.

Sweet. Forums Campfire room is awesome idea. So on the editorial / blog side of things, we have a room going for each of the sites, so writers can coordinate stories, etc. Makes sense to have a Forums-dedicated room. There's definitely clients for iOS and Android. Not sure if Windows Phone 8 has yet, but they do have an API. I bet Jay could whip one out in a heartbeat.

We haven't sent out the invites just yet... will let you know when we're ready to go

Accessing the room will be easy on your desktop/laptop... you can use your browser, or any number of clients that work well with Campfire.

OK Folks,

As you may or may not have noticed by now, I've sent out invites to those of you that expressed interest in joining our new chatroom. If you had given me the 'Yes, I want in!' heads' up, please check your inbox because there's probably an invite waiting for you.

There are a number of clients out there to run Campfire on mobile, so let me know if you need any help setting the chatroom up on your device of choice… otherwise, the chatroom works flawlessly in any desktop browser.

I'll be in the chatroom whenever I'm online. I suggest you do the same, in case you have questions for me, or vice versa.

Once you get in please drop me a note and say hello. It's time to get the banter going, really looking forward to it!

Well I got my campfire stuff set up. I take it this chat room is for the staff and moderators of all the mobile nations forums? I'm seeing people in there I don't recognize. As far as a mobile app I've installed burnt. I'll see how well it works and how much I chat before putting out the money for ablaze.

I haven't yet joined the chat group, but I could probably help you re: the names of some of the folks. Who do you not know?

I never was a mod on CrackBerry, but I know many of the mods there and used to BBM several of them.

I don't believe I recognized any of the names when I was in there except for Dave.
