2004 was ten years ago?

You mean I slept 18 to 24 months last night?!? ;)

Again, there's stupid and then there's sadistic. Stupid is saying "George Bush is a Nazi." Sadistic is publicly calling for innocent people to be hurt.

Stupidity is a bad decision. Sadism is a look into the darker parts of a person's psyche, and if it rises to the surface quickly, it's not just a stupid thing that is easily dismissed with an apology.

Regardless, I think the guy is done.

I don't really care if he's done or not. I have a feeling that he will be fine in Korea.

I'm just the type to not dwell on things. If he apologized, then that's fine with me. There's enough idiocy in the world where people will refuse to apologize.

I don't know the guy. It's not worth my time or energy to really feel anything about him personally.

The problem being that popular celebrities gain credibility as a result of their popularity.

I don't really have a ton of energy for slamming him, but I also caution people not to compare a "stupid" statement with a sadistic one and say they're both at the same level... ultimately, one is dehumanizing.

I dunno. Maybe I'm sensitive to it given family history in the 20th century... I just don't like seeing atrocity promoted.

I'm from a military family. I grew up partly on military bases. I'm a tremendous fan and supporter of the military.

I guess I just don't put much stock in celebrities. Many of them are very short sighted and exist almost purely on what emotion they happen to be feeling at the time.

If PSY is truly "influential", then his apology should matter too then, right? At least to those that actually base their opinions on what celebrities say. And for those people, they're kind of a lost cause anyways.

I'm not a military guy (nor from a military background), but a large number of my family were tortured and killed in the 20th century. So when I hear someone with an audience call for it to be done to people, it just makes my skin crawl. It's probably me.

Completely understandable.

I may just be really numb when it comes to celebrity opinions.

If I started using whether or not I agree with a celebrities personal beliefs as a judgement as to me enjoying their music/show/movie, I would be very limited in what I would listen/watch. Now if they were spewing stuff like this in every performance, or just being excessively in your face with it, yeah, they lose my interest. If it was something that happened years ago, and they're apologetic about it, I can live with that.

Well, you have to take all this Psy hating in stride.

We are the same country that turned on the Dixie Chicks for criticizing President Bush for the war in Iraq and saying they were ashamed the President of the United States was from Texas.

I kind of forgotten about the issues

I live in the UK so it doesn't effect me at all and it kind of old news STORAGE WARS news is much more important Dave been sacked off the show and going to miss him :unhappy:

YUUUUUUUPPPPPPPPPP :amaze:

Political speech criticizing the president isn't in the same league, sorry.
