I don't know if this is unique to my phone or512mb windows phones in general. I have a large collection of music on my phone, about a 1000 songs, however using the xbox music app was like being forced to mutilate myself. It was extremely slow and laggy and took time to load songs even from store artists. Today, upon downloading the update, the app runs faster than a coked up three year old on a floor made of butter. Anyone else having any other experiences?

^ This... x)

To be honest, I haven't noticed an issue with this app. I have almost 400 songs in my collection (downloaded almost 100 of them). But I have the HTC 8X with 1GB RAM with a 1.5 GHz processor. That may be the difference...

I didn't notice much sluggishess in the music app since I stopped using it because it was very broken for me. Smart DJ was only available for 1% of the arists and even then it would only play that artist. Downloaded bio and pics from Xbox was also broken. I usually don't like previews on my main devices but I might have to try this one. Still can't believe they replaced Zune for Xbox music app.

I never had any problems with it, however it was skipping and stuttering while playing music when I had less than 1GB free space due to the other storage issue and pre-GDR2.

Is music syncing any better or does it still mess up album info, cover art, etc?
Check to make sure that you have the option to download song information from Xbox Music turned off if you use iTunes to manage your library. I constantly had problems with album and artist names being changed slightly by Xbox Music sync. (e.g., Xbox Music changed "Test For Echo" to "Test for Echo" on some of the songs in that album, causing the music app to show two different albums.)

this *seems* to have been fixed in GDR2 -- it will only look up missing info now.

Probably no change in GDR3, updates and associate reboots do tend to make the phone feel "snappier" for a while after the update.

Wait a couple of weeks and see if it's still snappy then.

Still seeing the same songs listed multiple times. I always keep my library on my hard drive, so a reformatting of the SD card, and copying the library back to the cards resolves the problem, at least for a while (I make it a point to remove the card from my phone and do the transfer through my PC).

I saw a note when GDR2 came out that you would have to delete/reload collection. Could be worth it to you.

This is different. In amber, my phone lagged when ever I used Xbox music, and that's after I flashed it using NSU. Now ny songs load instantly and the music experience is much better
