Yeah but at least when you receive the update to 8.1 it wont bog down the system like IOS updates do to older devices.

you're comparing apples to oranges (no pun intended)

Apple pretty much has total control over updates vs. android and WP as the carriers control the release of update there.

Plus, apple releases 1 (or more with variants) phone a year vs everyone else. Unless all other manufacturers manage to get the same ability, then we are stuck playing the waiting game.

also, like everyone else mentioned, current reports peg the 4s as getting a HUGE performance hit on IOS8... I'd stop that install if I were you.
