Glance has been updated on the 1520 to support notifications, and also has the option to remain on while charging in interval or peek modes.
The super sensitive touch drivers have improved to immediately work back and forth between finger and metal- whereas my current device (the 820) needs a few taps with a piece of metal in order to adapt to it.
And finally, the 1520 has the multitasking update, which means it's preloaded with gdr3. While I have gdr3 on my 820, the 1520 had a newer windows phone version number... 8.0.10517 instead of 8.0.10512 if I recall.
Source: I just played with it in store. Much too big for me, but it's really really nice.
