GMail just allowed IMAP access in addition to POP3. So I set it up in my Tilt's Pocket Outlook. It's working - sort of. Though I set it up so that the entire email is downloaded, some of the emails are only downloaded with the Subject w/o any email body.

Anybody experiences the same issue?

I get the same thing -- I logged into the forum today to see if anyone else saw the same thing.

In addition, I have gotten a few messages with extra equal signs sprinkled about.

My guess is there are still some bugs to work out.

Cheers,
Jeff

Me too....some of my messages arrive without any content. I got a "click here to download the rest of the message", but when I did....there was nothing.

Might just be a Pocket Outlook problem -- I tried it with FlexMail and all messages downloaded ok. But then FlexMail has it's issues as well.

Can anyone use Gmail with POP3 on the Tilt successfully?

My Tilt has issues getting new emails or other notifications (such as alarms and calendar events) when the Tilt is 'asleep' if I set up my Gmail as a POP3 account (polling every 15 mins). The settings must be correct because as soon as I 'wake up' the unit the new emails are flying in.

I already tried all the tricks (posted in xda-developers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1609251#post1609251) such as removing the HTC Task Manager from the Today screen. When I set up Gmail using IMAP, I am able to receive all the emails and notifications both asleep or awake (the Tilt that is). However, with over 50% of the emails not able to get the message body via IMAP, I am now stuck.

What do you guys do/use to access Gmail? (I also use the Gmail Java app. But this app doesn't do polling or notify new emails).
