I wonder what is our chance of seeing official Google drive app in WP

Google's done nothing but a terrible search app for the platform. Just hope that it will be possible for third parties to create full featured clients.

I'd love to see official support of google docs. I don't see this ever happening. It could happen through 3rd party with APIs but it would be a huge effort and a lot of maintenance if the APIs change as we see with Pandora, at least Google's APIs are documented.

Google won't even give us a Google Voice app. You think we'll get a Drive app? Sorry, SkyDrive works for me and I have 25 gigs free on 2 different accounts for a total of 50. No thanks Google.

SkyDrive gives me 25gb for free and the Office web apps are 100 times more capable than gimped Google Docs. I couldn't care less if we get either.

An official app? Not for a long time. Your best bet is that they release a public API. But Google doesn't exactly have a great track record for that, either.

Have been a loyal googler (since gmail, notebook days) for sometime; but didnt go android way, or iOS for that matter. Would love a GDrive for WP, but if it doesnt come through then will switch to SkyDrive which is decent (to say the least) and like mentioned above great office integration.

It will be Google's loss,..... already enjoying the hotmail reunion after a decade and a half !

Perhpas you are interested in trying Woopiti which is a google drive client for windows phone, and soon Windows 8, it also support other sources like facebbok and dropbox, picasa, youtube, skydrive, flickr, etc.

What about ability to download certain files i.e. mp3 files or PDF and save them on SD card. I've tried few apps but no luck. Is it WP way of handling files?

hopefully in windows8.1 some of these could be made to work out
