I'm on contract ($99) and can't seem to get group texting to work with AT&T. At work 4g, (no wifi) I could browse the web, send SMS, recieve SMS, Send pictures, recieve pictures, connect to facebook. But when I go to messaging, settings, group text on... here comes the fun part:

I send a group text (to some people from work I chat with sometimes) They could read my group text, but when they responded, I couldn't see anything. It wouldn't even come through as a SMS from the person who responded. NOTHING!! Later, after I asked if anyone was getting the group text, I got a SMS from a person in the convo saying "yeah I responded to the group txt" but I still didn't receive it.. :( I talked to tech support for over an hour, and of course nothing. I turned off the phone, turned it back on, they ran some tests, turned cellular data off/on, I even went to so far as to reset it (wiping it) hoping it would fix it. Nothing seems to work!!

I should have mentioned I had a iPhone 4s prior. I wiped my phone last night, enabled group text, then put it down for the evening. I still had my iPhone, and turned it on, it connected to my wifi, so I turned iMessage off and went to bed.

This morning, BAM, group texts started coming in! So maybe it had something to do with iMessage and the people with iPhones trying to group text me. In their contacts I guess I went from "iPhone" to just "Mobile" now.

Who knows, at least its working!

I'm having the same issue, glad to know it should be fixed shortly, thanks for coming back with the update!

Folks the answer is not what you would think...I have had this problem and SCOURED 30-40 fora with no luck. The answer is counter-intuitive - Turn OFF group text as this feature seems to be dependent on your Mobile provider. It worked, immediately, for me.
John.

I had an issue when moving from an iPhone to the 920. I had to go back to the iPhone and disable all message stuff. People were texting me and I would never get it on the 920, but it was still showing up on the iPhone.

Welcome to Apple lockin...

here is what you need to do to get it working :

1 put your sim in an iPhone and turn off iMessaging in the settings

2 have your friends then reboot their phones.

messages will then work

I have the same case. I just got it 3 weeks ago and they won't replace it with new one. I guess this is a bug in windows phone.
