H.265 playback, has anyone loaded this on their phones to watch?

H.265 playback

Since the 950xl can play the 4k video it shoots, has anyone loaded any h.265 encoded videos on their phone to watch? I have a 4k television and now have a large number of h.265 shows and anime. If anyone has loaded any videos on the XL, could you please tell me the apecs on the video. I didn't want to have to take time to convert the files. I would just drag and drop the ones that would work on there. Thank you

I just did a convert on some 4K source I have using Adobe Media Encoder. I used Main VBR 1 pass with quality set to Good. The video played without a hitch. So it seems like it's all good to go!

I can't speak for Ben, but I produce films and we have some 4K content. The codec was included with the last update of Adobe CC.

I'm not encoding any UHD content to H.265. That said, I'm using DVDFAB to encode some 1080p content to h.265. The settings I'm using:

Video
Codec: H265
Frame Rate: Same as source
Resolution: 1920x1080
Encoding Method: High quality Encoding (Two Pass)
Video Quality: High Quality (***THIS SETTING SETS THE BITRATE AND BITS/PIXEL)
Bitrate: 4972 kbps
Bits/Pixel: 0.1

Audio
Codec: AAC
Sample Rate: 48000 Hz
Channels: 5.1 Multichannel
Bit Rate: 448 kbps

The quality is simply amazing. I did various comparisons on using H264, H265 and original source material (via MKV) and the H265 produced the absolute best quality when compared to file size.

There's a couple ripper programs that can rip blurays. You can rip them and keep in it h.265.
