Headphone with mic recommendations for Nokia Lumia 920?

speech should work in lockscreen as well as long as that setting is enabled in speech settings "Use speech when the phone is locked". In any case thanks for the review, i'm gonna get these while i send back my nokia purity headphones to nokia care in texas, which were a huge disappointment btw, broke down within a month with one ear not working.

I recently gambled and picked up this pair: Ink'd 2 - Blue/Black w/Mic at the super market on sale for $15. I can confirm that the mic works and the button works in lock screen, single, double and triple tap. If you are not in the lock screen you can hold the button to trigger the voice command prompt. So for all of you that are looking for a cheap pair of headphones with mic that will work with your new Lumia 920, you can grab the Ink'd 2 w/ Mic from skull candy and have something to tide you over until you pull the trigger on something pricier.

They seem to be one of the few companies who is straightforward about the compatibility of their equipment with ALL smartphone devices (not just iPhone/Android).

I haven't tried them, but I think I have found a winner and I will.

There are some good tips out there for using your Windows Phone alternatively as the microphone itself and then syncing the audio up to the video. You could also go the shoestring route by placing the phone on a napkin to cancel extra noise, and by keeping it pointed directly at the source of sound.

Skullcandy Ink'd 2 works great on Lumia 928 and so does Skullcandy Supreme Sound Merge. Single button control functions all work properly including voice control even when phone is asleep for both models of headsets. Merge headset, sound seems more full and deeper base. When on phone calls others say the I sound better when using Merge set. It is clearer sounding and has less background noise as apposed to the Ink'd 2 where people say I sound muffled when speaking and they hear more background noise. Ink'd 2 were $18.99 at Best Buy and Merge were $29.99 at Verizon Wireless corporate store. The Verizon store did not have any Skullcandy on the floor the sales rep had to get a pair from the back. Merge are a few years old now since I purchased my first pair in December 2012 for the same price (then lost them recently) and may be harder to find now.

Still looking for quality 3 button control headset with volume control. Cannot bring myself to spend the money on Monster Purity due to reported quality issues and spending $99 dollars for a-Jays Five are not in the budget right now.

I've been using the Purity Hands Free Headset with my Omnia 7 and now 925 since April 2012, controls obviously work, the sound is very goot (best headphones i've used tbh), only problem:
bought in April 2012 from Amazon, lost audio in one ear by november, which amazon replaced free of charge and quickly, then in June 2013 they broke again, and Amazon replaced them free of charge again, and just this week they broke again after a year of use, amazon didn't want to replace them, but i've managed to get a refund, and they are removing them from stock (amazon.fr)
So yes good headphones, and i all ways put them back in the case when not using them, but they still break fairly easily.

I'm now looking for some new ones, under 100€, i've been looking at the ones people have mentioned here, but has anyone got any other models ?

i also found some rumors on internet that some of them doesn't work with WP devices.
does anybody know if the "Skullcandy 50/50" model work with L920 WP. 8.1, i really like it
but cannot find any straight answer on this and also i found one post which say that microphone and controls don't work
can anybody confirm this ?

I hope they work because i like this model really much but don't wanna waste money.

I have been using $5.00 earbuds with mic from BigLots. Some come with a switch on the mike that can be used to answer, hang-up, pause/restart audio. Acceptable sound for my uses.

Personally I recommend the Xiaomi Pistons 2i. Some of the best earphones I've ever heard for less than $30 - they have beryllium drivers, metal construction and they sound fantastic too. And the remote/microphone has volume controls and a mic that fully worked with my 1020. Just beware of all the fakes, even on Amazon.

Unfortunately, it looks like they use iOS controls, so they won't work. Generally, I've found any earphones with remotes that work for Android devices will usually work.
