Headphones Issue

Background: I have an HTC Surround running Mango.

Issue: I have problems with the default Music+Video freaking out when I listen to music with a pair of noise-cancelling headphones. It will either A.) automatically change volume from 30 to 1 and back 30 over and over. or B.) continually pull up the listening... menu.

It has never given me problems with a pair cheap earbuds but I feel like it did give me the same problem before when I used iphone style (handsfree device) earbuds with a built-in mic.

Is anyone else having this problem.

Have you ever preformed a hard reset. I had this problem last November-December-January If I plugged in headphones or connected to aux speakers the volume would run down to 1. If I tried to raise it, I would just track down again. Did a hard reset in February (for a different reason) and the problem vanished. Also had an issue with alarms freezing the phone and that also disappeared after the reset.

Just buy original HTC headphones and problem solved
