Headset issues

HI,

So i've got my 822 and tried using my old headset from E52, and it only works if i partially plug it in.
When fully plugged the sound can only be described as distant.
Tried restarting the phone, nothing helps.
Read somewhere that there are several 3.5 mm jack standards but nut much beyond that.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Your best option is probably to contact Nokia and ask them if the headphones from the E52 are even compatible with the 822. The E52 is a really old device, so there probably aren't too many forum members who still have one (or ever had one). I have no idea if the E52 was ever sold in the US.

What concerns me, is whether i can buy any headset off eBay and it will work with the 822 or do i have to get some specific headset model

I faced the same issue with my E5 headset. It's about three years old. Most newer headsets work with my Lumia, such as Nokia WH-208.
