HERE+ City Lens won't install because the 635 doesn't have a compass?

Seems strange that the 635 would report to the store that it doesn't have a compass. Anyone install this application on their 635? Wierd - the Metro Compass app reports the same problem. How does GPS / mapping work without a compass???

First, per the specs, there is NO compass.

GPS works by transmitting your position to a series of satellites. The satellites see your movement, as you change position, direction, speed, etc.

Actually GPS in your phone, car, etc, work by "receiving" signals from several satellites from which it calculates its position.

YES, what he said, that makes more sense (than my answer) & is the reason GPS can be used without a data connection.

It does need one. The gyroscope is what calibrates the app upon opening.
