Hibernated Surface Pro draining fast

Hi, I have a Surface Pro 1 and when I either hibernate or put it into sleep, the battery drains fast (~15% per night or such). This is not the case with shutdown. While I understand sleep that drains battery fast, why does hibernate?
I never seen this issue on other laptops when hibernated, so how to solve this Surface Pro issue?

Thanks for taking the time!

It seems that the problem is related to that it will not put the Surface entirely in hibernate mode, maybe because when I hibernate it and attach the keyboard I can see the backlight keys light up for a moment. Yesterday i waited a bit when attaching the keyboard and the device this seems to have been put in hibernate properly (the battery was drained only by 4%).

A similar thing happens on my Surface Pro 2. It doesn't fully hibernate if devices are attached. Ironically, later Surface Pro models (2017) also have issues with hibernation.
