Himanshu's response

I agree that he was overly harsh to the OP. He could have worded it differently, such as "Could you please explain further? I do not understand what you are saying."

Agree. IMHO the only requirement is that the poster can get his point across. I think that was achieved. At least I had no problems understanding the OP. My spelling is terrible and I'm also glad people don't constantly nag me about it. If it was up to me I'd delete the comment ASAP.

Side Note:
I suspect Himanshu is just trying to do his job, but confusing the meaning/purpose of the "ThIS iS Not Kewl" rule. He doesn't strike me like the type who would otherwise say something like that.

EDIT:
The first negative reaction just made it into that thread. I deleted both posts so as to prevent any further escalation, but did nothing further. I'll leave everything else up to the more experienced mods.

I get the feeling that he's pushing hard to become a moderator. To be honest, the thought of that scares me a little.

There are a bunch of times I face palm myself after reading some of these responses to posters who are obviously not that experienced in typing out their thoughts. It could be English is tough for them or just writing is. I agree 100% with ascent in comment #3, and feel this is an area we should maybe consider doing what cori did, or at least dealing with it in PM's at first. There is almost never a time to call out someone rudely based on grammer. I have asked for clarification on thread post a ton when I did not understand what the question or complaint was about. Nothing wrong with that. But like Laura said- simply politness rules apply at all times. We want to encourage posting, not allow someone to feel unwanted or dumb.

You handled that just fine in my opinion Cori.

Sidenote: Ironically, just had to edit this post due to my grammer was horrid...
