Thanks. I had already tried this. I was able to set up my desktop that is on my WiFi network but get the message on my desktop that is hardwired to my modem and printer.

I take it you've tried rebooting the computer? Are you able to temporarily connect it to WiFi in order to complete setup? And THEN see if the hard wire connection works? Also try rebooting your router. (depending on your brand, especially if it's from your cable company you MAY need to unplug it and/or pull out a backup battery to get it to reboot) Try a different network cable, maybe you have a patch or crossover cable by mistake?
