Hotmail to Outlook unavoidable?

I received an email today saying my hotmail account will soon be upgraded to outlook. Do I have a choice? And does this mean many wp7 users will have to do a hard reset soon?

When mine was upgraded, the account name stayed the same (blah@hotmail.com). Only the interface changed. Did the notice state that the account name/domain would change?

The only difference is the interface if using web-based email. It does not affect the actual email address.
