How can I acces 2g in settings?

Nokia Lumia 1520/no 2g

Hi all,

I have recently bought a 1520 (a HK variant with GBIE firmware) and on inserting a giffgaff sim I can only access 3g/4g (there is no 4g in my area so it shifts to 2g then back to 3g, 3g signal isn't great).

Does anyone know the best way to enable access to 2g in the settings, if this is going to be changed in denim or if it is best to change the firmware version?

When I purchased my new lumia 1520 a couple of months ago it was the Hong Kong Variant
RM-937_apac_hong_kong_222 Mobile Operator: 000-HK 02061.00066.14253.40004 and it had 2g, 3g and 4g in the settings with windows 8.1 + cyan. When I flashed my phone to the RM-937_eu_euro1_231 Mobile Operator: 000-GB 02061.00066.14253.40002 I lost the 2g in the settings.

The original HK variant flash code is: 059V253 VAR APAC HK CV BLACK should you wish to flash to the HK CV Hope the info is of some help to you.

Just to update, I plugged the phone into Recovery Tool and it offered an update from 02061.00066.14253.40002 to 02061.00066.14253.40004 which resolved the issue, re-installed apps from store rather than from onedrive backup and updated dev preview and all still ok

That's excellent news for you. You have the original HK firmware now which definitely has all the settings you required. Only thing you may have to do is change regional setting, language & Speech, as I recall my Hk variant had Chinese settings in all, though regional settings changed on initital 1st time setup.
