How can I add movies to my WP

How can I edit movie files so they can be played on my Windows Phone? And what kind of files are playable? Thanks!

Transcode using https://handbrake.fr/

MP4 files play (MKV in WM10). Probably something like the iPhone auto settings.

Copy to phone Video folder from your PC.
