How Can i change phone number type?

In contacts i can select only limitid type of phone numbers (mobile, mobile 2, work...). Is there any way how can i add or change phone number type (vodafone, at&t ...)?

I assume you get penalized on your plan (maybe burning up minutes) for calling mobile phones on other carriers?

There isn't a way to add a customized phone type.

Capture the carrier they are on in the contact name. That's the field with the most flexibility.
