How can i downgrade from wp 10 to 8.1?

I've tried using the application windows gives for doing this but it won't get over reading the informations in my phone. i've been waiting for aover an hour now. is there any other way i can downgrade my phone?

You didn't mention the model of your phone.
However the only way is the Windows Phone Recovery Tool or Lumia Software Recovery Tool.
If you're having problems with the WPRT reading your phone, try uninstalling the USB device in device manager, then disconnect and reconnect your phone. Windows should then reinstall the USB device driver and if you try running the WPRT again it will hopefully read it.

i have a lumia 925. the WPRT is reading my phone but it's taking forever to process the informations in it. Is it normal to take hours?

Maybe a bad cable? Try another cable and another port...
