How can I get C Spire to carry Windows Phone 8 devices?

I live in the south where C Spire Wireless competes against the big four carriers (ATT, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile) really well in the southern states. I have a lot of friends and family that choose C Spire because they have great coverage and are affordable. A lot of them are impressed by my Lumia and want to get a Windows Phone of their own. While C Spire does sell a Windows Phone (An HTC 7 Pro that doesn't have 7.8 and cost 30$ on contract), I don't think any one in their right mind would buy it considering what is out right now.

I've tried asking about the future of the platform and the carrier via email but I have always gotten the same generic response. "We're always looking and evaluating blah blah blah......."

What else is there to do to get this (and other carriers) to adopt the platform?

Sales and interest are it. You are already doing the right thing- asking C-Spire to support the OS you are most interested in. Outside of that all, you could possibly do is ask youself which is more important: The carrier or the device options. If C-Spire is in danger of losing users, grabbing a WP8 device- even a lower end one- will be way more appealing.

As WP 8 gathers steam, it will bring the smaller carriers along with it at some point. Wish I had a crystal ball to say when.

Same thing here. I have found that I can insert the C-Spire sim card and dial out on a Windows phone, but data does not work. Wish there was some way around this and I would just buy a Windows phone and use it on the C-Spire network.

Thanks!

If you can get a WP to work with their sim card, it's probably just a matter of some APN or similar settings.
