How can I get Microsoft OneDrive to sync .PDF files (as well as .JPG files)?

Background
Although I have successfully got OneDrive to sync the Gallery folder on my Android smartphone (Galaxy S22), OneDrive is failing to synch files that are not .JPG images! i.e. It is synching .JPG files but not .PDF (nor .TXT) files.

This is very irritating because I am trying to use a PDF scanning up (e.g. Genius Scan app) to create .PDF files which I can access on my Window10 PC.
